November Downtown Dog Walk

Tonight over a dozen dogs and their owners took over the streets of downtown Los Angeles for another Downtown L.A. Dog Walk. The merry band of downtown residents first gathered at Pershing Square to share their stories of living downtown. People from all over downtown attended the walk; Little Tokyo, Historic Core, South Park and the Financial District. After a short meet and greet at the park the dogs took to the streets and headed to a farmers market at the Santee Village. While traffic was at a virtual standstill the dogs breezed along 7th Street leaving frustrated suburban residents making their way home wondering what all the commotion was. After an hour later both tired dogs, and their hungry owners parted ways agreeing to meet again at next months dog walk.

Howl-ing great time

Even though public space for dogs have yet to grow, the number of dog friendly events in downtown has grown. This past Wednesday The Lofty Dog (a Dog Walk Downtown L.A. supporter) held its first Howl-o-ween party. Not to be left out of the "trick-or-treat" affair, downtown residents and their dogs were treated to an ample supply of doggie treats, people snacks and spirits!
